English Blasters Speak
Parents
Shozo (Japanese, bilingual - Japanese, English)
From English Blast our children have gained friends who have the same goal,
who all are trying to learn/keep up English in this Japanese environment. Also,
they have begun to show in-depth interests in diverse topics that had been
introduced in the English Blast classes, which I don’t think can be gained
through classes at school.
It is great to see my children try to focus "in English" when preparing for this
only-once-a-week class, and I am greatly counting on this opportunity.
In teaching the themed Units of Inquiry, each parent has a different approach
that provides a different view on the subject, and this way they reach kids from
different angles.
To see English Blast in action deepens my understanding of it. Of course, it
would be best if I could drop by to see the class normally, but since it is not
possibly, the family days give me the opportunity to see my children’s
interaction with other kids and their progress. And it is always a great joy to
have conversation with other parents.
