English Blast provides an environment where spoken and written English has
communicative value. Teaching children by home-schooling in the evening, as I
did with my elder three children, can become a very sterilized activity. English
Blast provides motivation to continue the English study, which was very difficult
to achieve in home-schooling.

Sometimes I feel awkward about teaching children with such a large proportion
of adults looking on. Perhaps sometimes my teaching style suffers because I’m
not relating just to children but also to adults. On the other hand, frequently I've
been helped out by questions/interaction from parents and always feel that the
group is generally supportive.

English Blast sometimes has made other trips more worthwhile.  For instance,
when visiting a museum in Britain which mentions the Romans, we can usually
remember something we learnt in English Blast on that topic.
